Steampunk Aladdin

So I've gotten those two characters that I was developing for a Prince of Persia concept, and put them into a steampunk aladdin concept. It's going really fun so far,
I'm happy to be working on it right now.

No sleep last night but I am almost fully satisfied with the results, with a few changes to make in some of the characters. That's how the prints looked for review in class.

doodle

litte 20 min doodle while bored and tired of flash in illustration 3 class. Meh I kinda started adding saturated colors to make it fun but I'm not sure it wasn't enough... I'm just terrible with colors..

Final Poster

So this is the poster after painful hours of illustrator. I don't think it stands a chance on the actual competition since it's so crazy and senseless, but it's a fun looking crazy piece lol. Go aliens! [and monsters]

Ennui

This is a piece I'm working on for my Honor's portfolio class. It's about a sonnet by Sylvia Plath: Ennui. I had a fun time trying to come up with some sort of interpretation for that sonnet, it's something very unusual to me to try and illustrate something like that, but it's been fun so far. That's my color comp. I might do the finish in oils, the wacom tablet is starting to hurt my hand =P.

Added a new comp which I will probably be working from, if approved. This one gets back the idea (not shown here) that I had on the thumbnail stage, where the trees are all aligned and kind of suggest a prison cell. Kazu said he prefered it that way, and I think he has a good point.

Portfolio class

I'm working on a "my version" for the characters of the new prince of persia game, by Ubisoft. This would be the prince, or almost that, I might add some more work to him if I get the time.

* Added a 'sorta' finished version of the princess, Elika.

- Yes, I know. -

Haight Ashbury street fair

So for illustration 3 we got a cool assignment which will be submitted by our teacher Gordon Silveria to the Haigh Ashbury street fair poster competition. It will be finalized in Illustrator (or I'll try to). Some craziness, some hippieness, some whateverness. I think it's got a point. Or not, but still having the point of not having one, maybe.

Games, fun, drawings

Besides making up bad jokes and drawings, I also really enjoy playing video-games. That might be one of the few things that I'm not that bad at =], like shooting three pointers maybe, or slam dunking in the good old days heh (that was fun)...
Anyways, I'm trying to get my pieces to kind of focus in a portfolio for the gaming industry, so from now on, I'll be trying hard to bring the class concepts/assignments to be something that could be appealing to those companies.

Blizzard's World of Warcraft is a big hit and there's about a dozen million of players around the globe, including me, who enjoy pretending we're badasses with cool powers, or badass shields good enough to keep us from being completely crushed by a giant dragon's bite. Well, here is the drawing for this assignment, I had a lot of fun putting up details and trying to make the characters very different from each other. I made it into a "WoW" theme, trying to bring up that challenge and see if I could match up with the beautiful art standards of that game.
I should have the painting of it done before next tuesday, so I'll post it here, as well as some turnarounds and stuff.

Cheers! Have a beer!

**edited**

I've added a couple colored images, one with some color and a very rough background, and the other a little more finished with the background worked into something with a little more shape and story to it. I'm liking it. Tomorrow I'll put some more hours in it to really finish that one and move on to the next challenge =P.
